CAMEL BIRTH AT THE OASIS CAMEL DAIRY
During our May, 2012, Dairy Camel Training and Management Seminar Breeding and Reproduction Day, Special Guest Lecturer Dr Ahmed Tibary DVM, finished his day by helping deliver Sheba's 74 pound baby girl calf, Luna. (Named Luna being born on the day of the largest full moon of the year)
We had no way of knowing Sheba would give birth "on cue". We only knew she was getting close to giving birth. An extra bonus is Sheba's calm and trusting nature with people allowed all forty Seminar Attendees a front row seat for the main event.
Mother Sheba and baby Luna are doing well.

Camel mothers need their calves beside them in order to give milk. the Oasis Camel Dairy is truly unique as mothers, calves and handlers work together to collect the milk. Thirty-four rolling acres of pasture and daily care help to insure a tranquil and satisfying life for camels and their owners.
